Commissioned to theme an Aztec-inspired mini golf in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, Spring 2022.
QUETZALCÓATL - "PLUMED SNAKE"
Following traditional Aztec Culture, we created an interactive Quetzacóatl - also known as "Plumed Snake" - where players put through the mouth to reach the other side.
AZTEC MASKS
Once delivered on site, the masks were mounted on wooden pillars around each hole and sculpted using concrete. Accents of colour were added and the whole was dry-brushed and painted to give a weathered effect.
NATURAL WOOD/ROCK WORK
All natural wood and rock work are rendered using concrete, then partially textured using silicone moulds and a powder release agent. The wood or rocks are then additionally textured by hand using a variety of brushes and carved.
TEMPLE
The temple's weathered effect was created using a base layer of black and brown for the water marks. A light grey was then stippled over to soften the drips and make them look more realistic. The whole temple was then dry-brushed with a light beige to add age.
