Commissioned by a high-end restaurant for Christmas 2021, in partnership with Early Hours Ltd.
Consisting of three main parts, this was a colossal project requiring the utmost organisations.
The Who-ville Tree, Mt. Crumpit and the Who-houses had to be created simultaneously under a tight deadline.
The result is nothing but magical.
THE WHO-VILLE TREE
We started off with the Who-ville tree; carving, shaping, sanding and spraying it completely green.
Towering at three meters high, the tree was created it in two parts for ease of transport and carefully wrapped in grinch-inspired tinsel pined to the styrofoam. The fake snow was created using expanding foam.
MT. CRUMPIT
Mt. Crumpit is comprised of three polystyrene blocks secured on top of each other, which we carved away using a polystyrene wire cutter. The entirety was covered using grout which we sculpted into facets.
We spray-painted and dry-brushed the whole to create highlights. Finally, topped with snow and hand-painted Grinch-themed signs, give it some personality.
THE WHO-VILLE HOUSE
The Who-Ville houses were constructed using plywood shapes cut with a jigsaw layered on top of each other. Perspex sheets were inserted in the windows with LED lights behind them to give the illusion that the Who-ville residents were home. Both houses were hand-painted and finished off with a layer of snow to add to the Christmas magic.
